Getting started

Wallets, BNB Smart Chain and what will be possible once mainnet setup completes.

Bashard is being prepared for BNB Smart Chain mainnet. This page explains what you will need, how the app will connect, and how to tell a genuine Bashard network from an imitation while setup is in progress.

What exists today

ComponentState
BSHD tokenNot deployed. No address exists.
Staking contractNot deployed
Bashard core contractNot deployed
IndexerNot active against mainnet
Storage nodesNone active; no outside operators yet
App and explorerShow a setup-in-progress notice; no transactions are offered

Until contracts are deployed there is nothing to sign, buy or store. Any site, token or contract presenting itself as live Bashard on BNB Chain is not from this project. Announcements are published on the official X account @Bashard_.

Wallet

When the network is live, the app will detect any browser wallet that announces itself through EIP-6963 (for example MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Binance Web3 Wallet, OKX or Rabby), fall back to window.ethereum, and offer WalletConnect when configured. On a phone without a wallet it offers links to open the page inside a wallet app.

  • Use a wallet you control on BNB Smart Chain.
  • Bashard never asks for a seed phrase or private key.

If the app asks your wallet to switch networks, check that the requested chain id is 56. Decline anything else.

What you will need at launch

  • To store files: BNB for gas and BSHD to reserve a tape.
  • To delegate: BSHD and a node to delegate to, chosen from the explorer.
  • To operate a node: see Run a node.

How storing a file will work

  1. Reserve a tape: choose capacity in MB and a number of epochs, then approve the quoted cost.
  2. Upload a file. The app encodes, registers, uploads 20 shards and gathers a certificate.
  3. Open the track in the explorer to see which node holds each shard.
  4. Download it back. The app fetches shards until any 7 verify, then decodes.

Read Security first: stored files will be public to anyone who knows the track id.
