Troubleshooting

Common problems with wallets, uploads, downloads and nodes.

Wallet asks to switch network

The app requests BNB Smart Chain, chain id 56. If any other chain id is requested, decline.

No wallet detected

Install or unlock a browser wallet and reload. On a phone, use the app's open-in-wallet links. WalletConnect appears only when the host has configured a project id.

Upload stalls at certify

Certification needs signatures from at least two thirds of the committee. If several nodes are unreachable the quorum cannot be reached. Wait for nodes to recover or retry next epoch.

Download fails

• Fewer than 7 shards reachable: wait for repair after the next committee change.
• Tape expired: shards may already be garbage-collected.

Shards blocked as mixed content

An HTTPS app cannot fetch from an HTTP node. Operators must serve nodes over HTTPS.

My node failed challenges

Check that DATA_DIR is on persistent disk, the node's clock and RPC are healthy, and sync completes within the grace window. Failures above SLASH_THRESHOLD per peer per epoch trigger a vote.

Insufficient allowance or balance

Tape reservation and delegation first approve BSHD to the contract. Check BSHD balance and BNB for gas.
